Our First Practice Newsletter

In light of the ongoing pandemic and, with so many changes happening at Borland and Morton in general, we’re pleased to provide you with an update through our first practice newsletter.

Lockdown

The practice was instructed to close by the Chief Dental Officer on the 23rd of March 2020 in accordance with the Scottish Government Lockdown rules. At this point in time we were restricted to working from home and only able to answer calls and offer advice - this was extremely difficult as we were unable to physically meet patients and provide treatment. We, like many of you, spent a lot of time doing D.I.Y and renovation projects. We spent a lot of time at the practice painting and freshening it up in anticipation of re-opening. We also had a new sign made up and tidied up the front garden. We hope that you will all be able to visit us soon to see all of the changes.

Reopening

From June we were able to start seeing patients in person to provide some emergency treatments (initially without the use of the drill). We were glad to get back to seeing our patients in person again to help directly and, sometimes, just for some much-needed social interaction.

We were already accustomed to working with strict, infection control protocols as part of our routine practice, however, we have now introduced extra measures in accordance with the latest guidance to ensure that your visit to the dentist is completely safe.

At this point in time we are restricted by the terms of our NHS contract meaning that we are only allowed to provide basic, emergency care under the NHS. We are, however, in a position to offer all treatments on a private basis. Therefore, whilst we may not be able to provide a permanent solution under NHS cover, we could provide a temporary treatment or some sort of solution on a private basis. If you are an NHS patient and wish to seek clarification on possible treatment we would be happy to assist. We are always here to help and whether you are an NHS or a private patient and are experiencing a dental problem please do not hesitate to contact us.

As we have not been limited in our treatment towards private patients (and are able to provide fillings, check-ups and hygienist visits), we would note that a good option to allow patients to access affordable dental care during restrictions is to sign up to one of our affordable dental plans. Plans start from £10.95 per mon

Some exciting baby news

We’re delighted to congratulate our nurse, Cheryl on the birth of her baby girl, Cherry in January this year. As if that wasn’t exciting enough we’d also like to congratulate our dental therapist, Ashley on the birth of baby Ruby in April!

A warm welcome

We’d like to introduce Laura, our lovely dental hygienist and therapist who started in March this year to replace Ashley (who finished up to have her baby girl), however, her introduction to many of you has been curtailed due to COVID-19. Laura is friendly and professional and we are delighted to have her working as part of the Borland and Morton Family. We are pleased to announce that Laura is back in the practice and looking forward to seeing patients for some long overdue scale and polishes (currently without the use of water spray). We will shortly be introducing a new online booking system to schedule appointments with Laura - make sure to follow us on social media to find out when this goes live.

EVENT - Invisalign open days: 30th, 31st October and 2nd November

Would you like a straighter smile?

At Borland and Morton we’re always looking at how technology can improve your dental care and we are excited to announce our free Invisalign open weekend showcasing our Itero scanner. Using the latest digital Itero scanner allows us to take a scan of your teeth and show you how your teeth will look after using Invisalign. Invisalign is the “gold standard” and market leader for clear aligners. Aligners are much more discreet than typical braces and treatment usually only takes approximately 12 weeks. Spaces are limited so we recommend signing up as early as possible in order to avoid dissapointment. You can secure your slot by calling the practice or completing the contact form on our website. Should you sign up for treatment on the day you would save £250 on your treatment and receive free tooth whitening usually worth £250.

Community Relationships

At Borland and Morton we care about our community. We have had the pleasure of providing sponsorship to Woodside Primary by providing football team shirts and, in fact, had visits planned with Woodside Primary School and Chatelherault Primary school which are currently on hold due to COVID-19. We are always keen to form new community partnerships so if you or anyone you know is looking to form community partnerships we would love to hear from you.

A big thank you...

Lastly, on behalf of all of us at Borland and Morton, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all our patients for being so understanding and supportive during this challenging time. Whilst times continue to be tough we are excited for the future and will continue to grow the practice by providing excellent dental care at an affordable price.

We would also like to thank you for all of your input as we continue to grow. We highly value the reviews and referrals of all of our patients and are delighted to have received such excellent endorsements.

It seems that AGV Italo broke all the records of success of other

countries. If that train has rate of 574km/hr then it is brilliant

success for one company. But, in your www.ukbestessay.net you shared one

odd thing. Why that train travelling distance is reduced to 360km/hr?
